A new
beginning
Welcome
to the new website of the Nevada World Affairs Council in Las
Vegas. The council was formed in late 2008 with the union of
the former Nevada Committee on Foreign Relations and
The Las Vegas World Affairs Council.
Ambassadors, international business people
and bankers, military and political leaders and media
personalities visited Las Vegas under those auspices for
presentations and discussions bringing the highest level of
insight and knowledge of world events to our community.
The Nevada World Affairs Council in
Las Vegas will continue to bring these kinds of speakers to
the area and to add new programs.
We have new and expanded offerings,
including a monthly World Affairs Discussion Group, a monthly members lunch and educational outreach to
schools and colleges.
We will engage participants in a broad range discussion of issues in
foreign affairs confronting the new administration.
We plan a gala kick-off meeting soon to celebrate our new beginning.
We are excited about the merger and the
possibility for even more extensive programs and greater impact
on issues of world events as we grow. In this time of increased
global turbulence, it is more important than ever that you join
us in this great endeavor.
